What every audio-visual invoice needs

  • Your business name, address, phone and license number
  • Invoice number, date and due date
  • Customer name, billing address and service address
  • A line for every service, part and fee, with quantity and rate
  • Tax, total, payments received and balance due
  • Payment terms and how to pay

Pricing audio-visual work

  • Set a service labor rate from your real costs: (tech wages and burden + overhead share + profit) ÷ billable hours per year. Use it for time-and-material work.
  • Use a minimum charge for on-site service calls (e.g. a first-hour minimum) and bill remote support in smaller increments.
  • Price service agreements from expected work: (preventive visits per year × hours per visit + expected break/fix hours) × labor rate, plus a value for guaranteed response time. Tier them by response time and coverage.
  • Price per room or per system rather than per hour when coverage is predictable, so clients can budget.
