What every dock and door estimate needs

  • Your business name, contact details and license number
  • Estimate number, date and how long the price is valid
  • Clear options (good, better, best) with what each includes
  • Warranty terms and any permit or inspection fees
  • Deposit required, if any
  • A place for the customer to approve and sign

Pricing dock and door work

  • Price PM programs per door or dock position: (minutes per asset × asset count + travel and setup) ÷ 60 × labor rate × visits per year, plus a standard allowance for lubricants and small parts.
  • Quote repairs flat-rate where the scope is standard (spring pair, cable set, seal replacement) and time and material with an approved not-to-exceed where it isn't.
  • Charge a clear premium for after-hours and weekend emergency response, and a minimum charge per emergency call.
  • Mark up parts to your target margin: price = cost ÷ (1 − margin). Include freight on large components.
