What every irrigation invoice needs

  • Your business name, address, phone and license number
  • Invoice number, date and due date
  • Customer name, billing address and service address
  • A line for every service, part and fee, with quantity and rate
  • Tax, total, payments received and balance due
  • Payment terms and how to pay

Pricing irrigation work

  • Seasonal visits: price = expected time per system (often scaled by zone count) × labor rate + a stop charge. A per-zone add-on above a base number of zones keeps large systems profitable.
  • Repairs: a service call or diagnostic fee covering the first period on site, then flat-rate prices per repair (head, valve, line break) from your price book, so every tech quotes the same.
  • Wire tracing and troubleshooting: bill by the hour after the first period, and say so up front.
  • New installs: price per zone = (heads, pipe, valve, wire and fittings per zone) marked up to your margin + labor hours per zone × labor rate, plus controller, backflow device, permits and trenching conditions.
