What every locksmith estimate needs
- Your business name, contact details and license number
- Estimate number, date and how long the price is valid
- Clear options (good, better, best) with what each includes
- Warranty terms and any permit or inspection fees
- Deposit required, if any
- A place for the customer to approve and sign
Pricing locksmith work
- Build a base service call fee from your cost to get a locksmith to the door: (loaded hourly cost × average travel and setup time) + vehicle cost per trip.
- Set a published after-hours and holiday fee or multiplier that covers on-call pay, and quote it on the phone before dispatch.
- Price per-unit work flat: rekeys per cylinder, deadbolt installs per door, smart lock installs per lock, with hardware at a clear markup.
- Quote master key systems and access control as projects: hardware, pinning or programming time per door, key cuts and documentation.
