ServiceTitan alternatives: 7 options for 2026, compared honestly

Seven ServiceTitan alternatives for HVAC, plumbing and electrical shops, with published prices, a cost model for a 10-tech shop and who each one fits.

Updated October 15, 2026 · 13 min read · 7 options compared

The short answer

If you're a 3 to 50 tech residential shop paying for ServiceTitan features you don't use, there are tools with published prices and shorter commitments. The cheapest of them are user-bundle tools like Jobber, Housecall Pro and Service Fusion; TradesWork costs more than those but keeps ServiceTitan's structure. If you run commercial projects, lean on ServiceTitan's marketing suite, or need its integration list, staying (or looking at BuildOps) can be the right call.

Why owners look for ServiceTitan alternatives

No published prices

ServiceTitan's pricing page lists Starter, Essentials and The Works with a 'Request Pricing' button and no dollar figures, so you can't compare costs without a sales call.

Early termination owes the rest of the term

ServiceTitan's Terms of Use say ending early means a termination fee equal to all remaining payments, so a multi-year order form can be expensive to leave mid-term.

ServiceTitan Terms of Use §5(c)

Long, costly setup

Third-party estimates put implementation at $5,000 to $50,000 and 2 to 12 months, depending on size. ServiceTitan doesn't publish these figures.

License rules that make flexing down hard

Revenue-producing techs are billed as managed technicians, and ServiceTitan's help center says there's a limit on how often you can change a tech's license type.

The 7 best ServiceTitan alternatives

  1. 1

    TradesWork

Best for Residential HVAC, plumbing and electrical shops with 3 to 50 techs who want ServiceTitan's way of working at a published price.

    $79, $99 or $139 per tech/month billed annually ($91 / $114 / $160 month-to-month). Office staff, helpers and apprentices free.

    What stands out

    • Uses ServiceTitan's words and structure (customers, locations, job types, business units, campaigns, pricebook), so training is short.
    • Month-to-month available; annual never auto-renews at a higher price. 14-day trial, no card.
    • Tech app for iPhone and Android, in English and Spanish, that keeps working with no signal.
    • Imports your ServiceTitan customers, locations, equipment, pricebook, job and invoice history and memberships from exported files, with a preview before anything is saved.

    Watch out for

    • It's new. It doesn't have ServiceTitan's years in the market, its customer base or its partner list.
    • Per-tech pricing costs more than Jobber, Housecall Pro or Service Fusion for most small shops. It's priced against ServiceTitan, not against the cheapest tools.
    • Several ServiceTitan file layouts are still being validated against real customer exports. Stored cards and phone numbers don't move; you re-collect and port them.
    • Financing lenders aren't connected yet, QuickBooks Online is the only accounting sync, and there are no commercial project tools.
  2. 2

    Housecall Pro

Best for Smaller residential shops that want a simple, self-serve system and published plan prices.

Basic $59, Essentials $149, Max $299 per month billed annually ($79 / $189 / $329 monthly). Basic includes 1 user, Essentials 5, Max 8, then $35 per extra user on Max.

    What stands out

    • Prices are on the website, there's no long-term contract and a 14-day trial of Max with no card.
    • Max includes recurring service plans, flat-rate pricing, a sales proposal tool and an open API.

    Watch out for

    • Plans are priced by included users, office included. Recurring service plans are on Max only.
    • Add-ons such as the CSR AI phone agent, Pipeline and Payroll have no published price.
  3. 3

    Jobber

Best for Owner-operators and small crews across many home services who want low starting prices and a polished client experience.

From $29 per month (Core, 1 user, annual prepaid). Connect, Grow and Plus run $99 to $699 per month depending on plan, user band (1, 5, 10 or 15) and commitment. Extra users $29. 16+ users: contact sales.

    What stands out

    • Every price, including add-ons like the $99 Marketing Suite, is on the pricing page.
    • Three ways to pay: annual prepaid, a 1-year commitment billed monthly, or no commitment.

    Watch out for

    • Built for a broad range of home services, not specifically for HVAC flat-rate selling and memberships.
    • Teams over 15 users go to sales, so the published prices stop where many ServiceTitan shops start.
  4. 4

    FieldEdge

Best for HVAC and plumbing shops that want a long-established, trade-focused system and are comfortable with a quote.

Not published. Plans are Select, Premier and Elite, with 'Request pricing'.

    What stands out

    • Focused on residential HVAC, plumbing and electrical rather than every home service.
    • Three plan levels, so you can start smaller and add features.

    Watch out for

    • No public prices, so you'll be comparing quotes, the same problem you have with ServiceTitan.
    • Ask for contract length, renewal terms and setup fees in writing before you sign.
  5. 5

    Service Fusion

Best for Shops with lots of office staff who want unlimited users at a flat monthly price.

Starter $208, Plus $325, Pro $533 per month billed annually ($245 / $382 / $627 monthly). Unlimited users on every plan, no contract required.

    What stands out

    • Flat price with unlimited users, which is cheap for a larger office.
    • Progress billing, recurring invoicing and a customer portal on Pro.

    Watch out for

    • Job costing, photo uploads and inventory start on Plus; the portal and e-sign documents on Pro.
    • Compare its tech app and estimate options side by side with your current process before committing.
  6. 6

    Workiz

Best for Smaller service teams that want phone, answering and marketing add-ons from the same vendor.

Not published. Plans are Standard, Pro and Ultimate, each with 'Request pricing'.

    What stands out

    • Phone, answering and marketing add-ons offered alongside the core product.
    • Aimed at small to mid-sized service teams.

    Watch out for

    • Prices went quote-only in 2026, so get the total including add-ons in writing.
    • Check that its depth on memberships, pricebook and reporting matches a ServiceTitan-style operation.
  7. 7

    BuildOps

Best for Commercial mechanical, electrical, plumbing, refrigeration and fire contractors that run both service and projects.

Not published. Tailored quotes for a service plan or a service-plus-projects plan, with Fleet+, Payments+ and CRM+ add-ons.

    What stands out

    • Built for commercial work, with project tools such as submittals, RFIs, change orders, daily reports and job costing.
    • A realistic alternative if ServiceTitan's commercial and construction depth is why you chose it.

    Watch out for

    • Not aimed at residential, membership-driven shops.
    • Quote-only, with add-on modules priced separately.

How to choose

  1. 1Start with your contract. Find your term end and notice window before you demo anything, because that date sets your timeline.
  2. 2Price your real headcount. Count managed techs, office staff, helpers and seasonal techs, then price each option at that number, add-ons included.
  3. 3Decide residential or commercial. Residential membership shops and commercial project contractors need different tools.
  4. 4Test the tech app on your own phones, in a basement or attic with poor signal, with one of your real jobs.
  5. 5Ask every vendor what it can import from your ServiceTitan exports, and what it can't. Get the answer in writing.
  6. 6Ask how you'd leave them: export format, cost and how long your data is kept.

For a 10-tech shop with three people in the office, the published annual price of the main ServiceTitan alternatives runs from about $3,900 to $11,880. ServiceTitan itself, by the low end of third-party estimates, starts around $36,000 a year before add-ons and setup. That gap is why you're here. The harder question is which of the cheaper tools can actually run a shop that grew up on ServiceTitan.

This page covers seven alternatives an HVAC, plumbing or electrical owner should consider: what each costs where the vendor publishes it, who it fits, and what goes wrong. Every published price was checked on the vendor's own pricing page on October 15, 2026. We make one of the seven, TradesWork, so we've held it to the same standard and put its weak spots in writing.

What you're paying ServiceTitan now

Before you compare anything, pin down your own number. Your invoice is the only reliable figure, because ServiceTitan's pricing page shows three packages and a "Request Pricing" button, and says only that its "per-technician pricing is designed to fit your business".1

$245–$500

Per managed tech per month, third-party estimate by package [estimate]

Projul (competitor)

$5k–$50k

Implementation fee, third-party estimate [estimate]

Projul, QuoteIQ (competitors)

1.13%

ServiceTitan platform revenue as a share of what its customers invoice, FY2026 (our arithmetic)

ServiceTitan FY2026 8-K

The third figure is ours, and it's the one we find most useful. In fiscal 2026 ServiceTitan reported $925.4 million of platform revenue (subscriptions plus usage, mostly payments) on $82.1 billion of gross transaction volume, the dollars its customers invoiced through the system.2 That's about 1.1 cents of every dollar invoiced. A shop billing $3 million a year that looks like the average customer would be paying ServiceTitan around $34,000 a year all-in. Averages hide a lot, so treat that as a sanity check on your own bill, not a prediction.

The third-party ranges also disagree with each other. Projul, a competitor, reports $245 to $300 per tech per month for Starter, $300 to $400 for Essentials and $400 to $500 for The Works, citing FSM Advisor and ToolEdUp.3 QuoteIQ, another competitor, reports $245 to $398 and says add-ons can push the monthly bill up 30 to 50% or more.4 Neither is a quote. Both are useful for asking whether yours is high.

Why shops leave, and why some should stay

The reasons owners give are mostly about the deal, not the software.

  • You can't see the price. Every package is quote-only, so there's no way to check your rate against anyone else's.
  • Leaving early is expensive. The Terms of Use say that if you end the agreement before the term is up, you "will owe a termination fee equal to all the remaining payments".5 A competitor citing BBB complaints lists demands of $16,121, $32,160 and $67,230 from contractors trying to leave mid-term.6
  • Setup takes months. Projul reports one G2 reviewer who paid nearly $25,000 for implementation and took almost eight months to be fully running.3
  • License rules. Any tech who gets credit for selling or performing work is a managed technician, and ServiceTitan says "there's a limit on how frequently you can change the license type".7 That makes slow seasons expensive.
  • A closed door. ServiceTitan's API terms bar apps whose main purpose is migrating customers off the platform, and in 2026 it ended its nine-year Podium integration after Podium launched a competing product.89 If you rely on a partner app that competes with ServiceTitan, that risk is real.

Now the other side. Stay, or at least wait, if two or more of these describe you:

  • You use the marketing suite heavily. Campaign attribution, call tracking, direct mail and ads reporting tied to revenue are a real strength.
  • You depend on integrations. ServiceTitan's homepage claims more than 70 pre-built integrations plus a partner marketplace.10
  • You run commercial or construction projects. Most residential tools, TradesWork included, don't do submittals, change orders or progress billing at ServiceTitan's depth.
  • You're mid-contract with years left. Do the arithmetic on the remaining payments before you do anything else.

What each costs for one example shop

Pricing models only make sense against a real headcount, so here's one. Say a residential HVAC shop has 10 field techs and 3 office staff, 13 logins, and pays annually. This is an example, not a quote, and it leaves out payment processing, which is close to market rate everywhere.

Service Fusion Plus$325 × 12, unlimited users$3,900
Jobber Grow, 15-user band$399 × 12 (annual prepaid)$4,788

Read that chart honestly. If Jobber, Housecall Pro or Service Fusion covers how you sell, they are by far the cheapest way out of ServiceTitan. TradesWork is priced per tech, the way ServiceTitan is, and it's built to replace ServiceTitan's structure, not to be the lowest price on the market. Where the bundle tools tend to strain is the ServiceTitan way of working: business units, campaigns, flat-rate options with member pricing, memberships with visits due, and payroll tied to jobs. Test those specifically before you let the price decide.

TradesWork

We'll put ourselves first and give you the same scrutiny as everyone else.

TradesWork was built for shops that like how ServiceTitan works but not how it's sold. It uses the same structure and the same words: customers and locations, jobs and appointments, job types, business units, campaigns, a pricebook with member prices, good/better/best estimates, memberships. Essentials ($79 per tech per month on annual billing) covers booking, dispatch, invoicing with text-to-pay, the pricebook, online booking, forms and the tech app. Pro ($99) adds options on the phone and iPad in-home sales, memberships, payroll export, commissions and spiffs, advanced reports, QuickBooks Online sync and supplier price lists. AI ($139) adds the 10 AI agents and AI Team approvals. That mirrors ServiceTitan's three packages on purpose, so you can compare line by line. Month-to-month is $91, $114 and $160. Office staff, helpers and apprentices are free.

The TradesWork price book: services and materials with price, member price, cost and margin, laid out the way a ServiceTitan pricebook export arrives. · Real product screenshot, demo company data.
Price book with services, prices and margins

To switch, you export your customer list, pricebook, locations, equipment, job and invoice history and memberships from ServiceTitan's own screens and drop the files in. You see a preview before anything is saved. Memberships arrive with visits due and billing held until you press start, and connecting the QuickBooks Online file ServiceTitan already syncs to checks counts and open A/R to the penny.

The watch-outs, plainly. TradesWork is new, without ServiceTitan's track record, partner list or marketing depth. It costs more than the bundle tools above for most small shops. Several of its ServiceTitan file layouts were built from ServiceTitan's screens and help docs and are still being validated against real exports. Stored cards, phone numbers and automations still need their own plan. Financing lenders aren't connected, QuickBooks Online is the only accounting sync, and there are no commercial project tools.

Housecall Pro

Housecall Pro is the usual pick for smaller residential shops: self-serve, published prices and no long-term contract. Basic is $59 a month billed annually ($79 monthly) for one user, Essentials is $149 ($189) for five, and Max is $299 ($329) for eight, with extra users at $35 each.11 Flat-rate pricing and QuickBooks Online sync start on Essentials. Recurring service plans, the sales proposal tool, route optimization and the open API are Max only.

For a ServiceTitan shop, that means you're on Max. The cost stays low, but every office login counts, and the add-ons a ServiceTitan shop tends to want (the CSR AI phone agent, Pipeline, Payroll) don't have published prices. Test reporting by business unit and commission pay plans in the trial.

Jobber

Jobber has the lowest entry price and publishes everything. Core is $29 a month for one user on annual prepaid. Connect, Grow and Plus are priced by user band: Grow, for example, is $149 for one user up to $399 for 15 users on annual prepaid, and $199 to $499 with no commitment. Extra users are $29, and the Marketing Suite ($99), AI Receptionist ($29) and Pipeline ($49) are priced on the page.12

Jobber serves a wide range of home services, from lawn care to cleaning. Its published plan features don't center on maintenance memberships or a flat-rate book with good/better/best options, which is how most HVAC shops on ServiceTitan sell. Teams of 16 or more users go to sales.

FieldEdge

FieldEdge is an established name focused on residential HVAC, plumbing and electrical. Its pricing page lists Select, Premier and Elite without prices. That's the main watch-out: you'll be negotiating a quote, which is the thing many ServiceTitan customers want to get away from. Ask for the contract length, renewal terms and setup fee on the order form.

Service Fusion

Service Fusion charges a flat monthly price with unlimited users: Starter $208 billed annually ($245 monthly), Plus $325 ($382) and Pro $533 ($627), with no contract required.13 For a shop with a big office and lots of dispatchers, that's hard to beat on price. Check the plan line-up carefully: job costing, inventory and photo uploads start on Plus, and the customer portal, e-sign documents and progress billing are on Pro.

Workiz

Workiz targets smaller service teams and sells phone, answering and marketing add-ons next to the core product. Its pricing page now shows Standard, Pro and Ultimate with request-pricing buttons; a pricing tracker shows it moved to quote-only in 2026, after years of published tiers.14 Get the full monthly total, add-ons included, in writing, and test memberships and pricebook depth.

BuildOps

If you're on ServiceTitan for its commercial features, BuildOps is the alternative to look at. It's built for commercial mechanical, electrical, plumbing, refrigeration and fire contractors, with submittals, RFIs, change orders, daily reports and job costing. Its pricing page describes a service plan and a service-plus-projects plan with Fleet+, Payments+ and CRM+ add-ons, and no dollar figures. It isn't aimed at residential membership shops.

How to choose, and how to switch

Start with the contract, not the demo. Find your term end and notice window, then work backward. Our guide to cancelling ServiceTitan walks through the order: request your data in writing first, run your own exports, run both systems side by side, then give written notice.

Before you book a single demo

  • Your ServiceTitan term end date, notice deadline and notice method, from your own order form
  • Your last three ServiceTitan invoices, so you know your real per-tech rate and Pro add-on costs
  • A headcount split: managed techs, helpers, office staff, seasonal techs
  • Five real jobs from last month to run in every demo, including one membership visit and one replacement estimate
  • A test export of your customer list and pricebook, so vendors can show you your own data
  • A written question for every vendor: what can you import from my ServiceTitan files, and what can't you?
Free download · ExcelField Service Software ScorecardWeight what matters to your shop, score up to five systems, and see year-one cost side by side.

Before you commit, ask each vendor how you'd get your data out if you left them. Our step-by-step guide to exporting your ServiceTitan data lists every file to run, and the TradesWork vs ServiceTitan comparison goes line by line if we're on your shortlist.
