What every fire & life safety estimate needs

  • Your business name, contact details and license number
  • Estimate number, date and how long the price is valid
  • Clear options (good, better, best) with what each includes
  • Warranty terms and any permit or inspection fees
  • Deposit required, if any
  • A place for the customer to approve and sign

Pricing fire & life safety work

  • Price inspections per device or per system from time: (minutes per device × device count + site travel and setup) ÷ 60 × labor rate, plus reporting time. Per-device pricing scales cleanly with large sites.
  • Separate the inspection price from maintenance work (recharges, six-year maintenance, hydrostatic tests) and price those per unit from your price book.
  • Build reporting time into the price. Writing, reviewing and filing reports is labor even though it isn't on the roof or in the riser room.
  • Quote deficiency repairs flat-rate where you can (replace a head, a pull station, a gauge) and by time and material where scope is uncertain, with not-to-exceed limits the customer approves.
