This is our own product compared with FieldPulse, so weigh it with that in mind. FieldPulse is a solid, trade-focused tool, and for some shops staying put is the right call. Every FieldPulse fact below comes from its own pricing page, help center or terms of service, checked October 15, 2026.
The short version: the two products aim at the same HVAC, plumbing and electrical shops. The biggest differences aren't on the dispatch board. They're in how you buy the software, what's included, and how easy it is to leave.
Where FieldPulse is stronger
Start here, because these points are real.
Track record. FieldPulse has years of contractors behind it and shows a 4.8 out of 5 rating from more than 2,500 reviews on its home page.1 TradesWork launched in 2026 and far fewer shops run on it. If being on a proven product matters most to you, that counts.
An AI assistant on every plan. FieldPulse says Maverick, included on all plans, answers questions from your own jobs, customers and numbers, drafts estimates and builds reports.2 TradesWork has comparable plain-English questions of your numbers, but FieldPulse got there first and has more contractors using it.
Trade coverage beyond the big three. FieldPulse's industry pages go past HVAC, plumbing and electrical into garage door, locksmith, appliance repair, fire and security, septic and A/V.1 TradesWork is built around HVAC, plumbing and electrical, and doesn't do inspection or deficiency workflows for fire and life safety.
Hands-on buying. FieldPulse's pricing page promises tailored onboarding and says its team will help you decide which add-ons make sense.2 Some owners prefer that to a self-serve trial.
No move. If you've run FieldPulse for years, your full job and invoice history lives there. TradesWork can't import FieldPulse history; it stays in your exports as an archive. That's a real cost of switching, covered below.
Where TradesWork is stronger
You can see the price before a demo. FieldPulse's pricing page says it is seat-based and built around what your team needs, with no dollar figures.2 TradesWork publishes Essentials $79, Pro $99 and AI $139 per tech a month on annual billing, or $91, $114 and $160 month-to-month. Office staff, helpers and apprentices are free.
Terms you can walk away from. FieldPulse's help center says all customers who signed up after November 2023 are on an annual contract, and that cancelling can't end it mid-term.3 Its terms say annual subscriptions renew automatically for one-year terms unless you give written notice at least 60 days before the end of the term (§8.5).4 TradesWork is month-to-month, or annual that never auto-renews at a higher price.
Fewer modules to price. FieldPulse lists Pricebook, Custom Forms, ClearPath workflows, Fleet Tracking, Operator AI and Engage as optional add-ons, with no prices shown.2 For an HVAC or plumbing shop a price book and forms aren't optional. TradesWork includes the price book, forms and checklists on every plan, and good/better/best estimates and memberships from Pro.
A tech app built for dead zones. TradesWork Field keeps saving estimates, notes, photos, forms and time with no signal and catches up later, on iPhone and Android, in English and Spanish. FieldPulse's home and pricing pages describe its mobile app without an offline claim.12 Test both in your worst basement.
HVAC records. TradesWork keeps equipment history per unit, a refrigerant log tied to each tech's EPA 608 number, leak repair deadlines and warranty claim tracking from check to credit.

Pricing and contracts in practice
Because FieldPulse quotes, the honest comparison is your own quote. Ask for it in writing with every add-on you'd actually use: Pricebook, Custom Forms, Fleet Tracking and Operator AI at minimum for a typical HVAC shop. Then lay it next to TradesWork as a 12-month total.
The contract matters as much as the price. FieldPulse's month-to-month subscriptions need 30 days' written notice; annual ones need 60 days before the term ends (§8.5, §8.6).4 Put that date in your calendar the day you sign, whichever product you choose.
Day to day
Office. Both handle booking, scheduling and dispatch from one board. TradesWork puts the caller's history, open jobs, balance and membership on screen before you answer, sends a text when a call is missed, and gathers website, Angi, Thumbtack and referral leads in one inbox.
Techs. Both have iPhone and Android apps with good/better/best estimates. TradesWork walks each visit step by step, lets techs talk instead of type, includes HVAC calculators, and shows techs what they've earned today.
Owners. FieldPulse's Raw Data reporting lets you filter, group and export job data to CSV.5 TradesWork lets you ask questions like "why was Tuesday slow?" against your real numbers and shows job profit and commissions.
Switching from FieldPulse to TradesWork
Be clear about this before you start. TradesWork has file importers for ServiceTitan, Housecall Pro, Jobber and FieldEdge. FieldPulse isn't one of them. You come across through the "Another system or a spreadsheet" importer:
- What moves: customers with their service addresses, and your item list as a price book, from CSV or Excel. Column names don't need to match; you fix the mapping and see a preview before anything saves.
- What stays in your archive: job, estimate and invoice history. Keep the exports.
- What you rebuild: maintenance agreements as memberships, equipment, forms and automations.
- What customers redo: saved cards. Card data sits with the payment processor and doesn't transfer.
FieldPulse's terms say you can export Customer Data for 60 days after your subscription ends, and that it's deleted within 90 days unless you ask sooner (§24.8).4 Don't lean on that window. Run your exports while you still have full access. Our guides cover how to export data from FieldPulse and the full FieldPulse to TradesWork migration.
Questions to ask in each trial
Ask FieldPulse:
- What's our 12-month total with every add-on we need, in writing?
- How are office users counted against seats?
- What can techs create with no signal, beyond viewing?
- What's our renewal date and exact notice deadline?
Ask TradesWork:
- How do our FieldPulse customers and items map in the spreadsheet importer?
- How do we set up our maintenance agreements as memberships, and when does billing start?
- Which financing lender do we use until lenders are connected?
Which should you choose?
FieldPulse if it's working, your quote is fair, you value a long track record, or you work in trades TradesWork doesn't cover well, such as fire and security.
TradesWork if you're a 3 to 50 tech HVAC, plumbing or electrical shop that wants a published price, month-to-month terms, memberships and refrigerant records included, and a tech app that works with no signal.
