How to cancel Jobber without losing your data

How to cancel Jobber step by step: check your renewal date, export clients and reports, run side by side, then cancel from Account and Billing.

Updated October 15, 2026 · 8 min read

The steps at a glance

  1. 1

Check your billing option and renewal date

In Jobber, open the gear icon, then Account and Billing. Note whether you're on no commitment, a 1-year commitment billed monthly, or annual prepaid, and your end-of-term date. Annual subscriptions must be cancelled at least 30 days before renewal.

  2. 2

    Export your clients

As an admin, open Clients, choose More Actions, then Export Clients, and pick CSV. Jobber emails the file; lists over about 1,500 clients arrive as several files.

  3. 3

    Export your reports

On jobber.com, open Reports, pick each report you need, set the date range and export it. Jobber emails each report as a CSV.

  4. 4

Save quotes, jobs and invoices you need as PDFs

Individual quotes, jobs and invoices can be downloaded as PDFs from More Actions. Prioritize open quotes, unpaid invoices and anything under warranty.

  5. 5

Set up the new system and run both side by side

Import clients and your products and services, move one crew first, then the office. Keep Jobber live until the new system has run cleanly for a week or two.

  6. 6

Plan cards on file and Client Hub

Saved cards don't move between payment processors. Ask clients with cards on file or automatic payments to save a card in the new system, and tell regular clients where to book and pay from now on.

  7. 7

    Cancel from Account and Billing

As an admin on jobber.com, open the gear icon, then Account and Billing, and click Cancel Subscription under Change your subscription. Confirm and choose a reason. If you subscribed in the Jobber app, cancel there instead: More, then Subscription.

  8. 8

    Keep exporting until access ends

You keep full access until the end of the current billing period, or the end of the term on a 1-year commitment. After that you lose access to clients, jobs and invoices, so finish your exports first.

  9. 9

Decide whether to close the account permanently

Closing is a separate, final step for the account owner, done after cancelling. Once closed, Client Hub stops working and the data can't be retrieved. Only do it once your archive is complete.

Jobber makes cancelling straightforward: an admin can do it from the Account and Billing page without calling anyone. What takes planning is everything around that button. Once your billing period ends, you lose access to your clients, jobs and invoices, and if you go further and close the account, Jobber says the data can't be retrieved.

This guide covers the safe order: check your commitment, export, run both systems, cancel, and only then think about closing the account. We cite Jobber's own help center, pricing page and terms throughout, checked October 15, 2026.

Before you start: which billing option are you on?

Jobber offers three ways to pay, and each one changes how cancelling works (pricing):

  • No commitment, monthly. Cancel any time; the subscription ends at the end of the current billing period.
  • 1-year commitment, billed monthly. A 12-month minimum term. Cancelling mid-year doesn't stop the monthly bills until the term ends. Jobber's terms describe this as a one-year subscription payable in twelve monthly installments.
  • Annual prepaid. Paid up front. If you cancel mid-year, access continues through the term, but the payment isn't refunded.

Jobber's terms add two rules worth knowing. Fees are billed in advance and are non-refundable, with no refunds or credits for partial months. And annual subscriptions must be cancelled at least 30 days before the renewal date.

So find your option and your end-of-term date in Account and Billing first. The help center notes that the end-of-term date is shown there for commitment plans (cancel your subscription). If you're on annual, put "renewal minus 30 days" in your calendar.

Also note your add-ons: Pipeline, AI Receptionist and Marketing Suite are separate below the Plus plan, and each may hold leads, call history or campaigns you'll want to keep.

Step 1: Export your clients

Jobber's help center explains the client export (export client information):

  1. Open the Clients tab from the side menu.
  2. In the top right, select More Actions, then Export Clients.
  3. Choose CSV (or vCard for contacts only).

Jobber emails you the file. The export includes tags, property addresses, contact details and custom fields. A CSV holds up to about 1,500 rows, so larger client lists arrive as several files. Admins can export clients (users with the Reports permission can export some client data), and the help center says client exporting is available on select plans, so check yours before your last week.

You can also export only clients with certain tags. If you pick several tags, only clients with every selected tag are included, so for a full backup, export the whole list.

Step 2: Export your reports

Reports carry your history. Jobber's help article on closing an account explains the export (permanently close your account):

  1. On jobber.com, open Reports from the side menu.
  2. Select a report.
  3. Set the date range you want.
  4. Export the report. Jobber emails it as a CSV.

The file is emailed to you, usually within 15 minutes. Work through every report you'd want for taxes, commissions, job costing or customer history, using the widest date range that makes sense.

Step 3: Save the documents you'll need

The same help article says individual quotes, jobs and invoices can be downloaded as PDFs through More Actions. That's one at a time, so prioritize:

  • Open quotes you're still following up
  • Unpaid invoices, so you can keep collecting
  • Recent jobs with warranty exposure
  • Anything tied to a dispute

For unpaid invoices, the help article also mentions batch invoice delivery by standard mail as a way to get them to clients before you leave.

Step 4: Set up the new system and run both

Don't cancel and then start setting up. Run both side by side for a week or two:

  1. Import your client list and products and services into the new system.
  2. Move one crew first, booking, dispatching and invoicing in the new system.
  3. Move the office once that crew is running cleanly.
  4. Move the remaining crews.
  5. Stop entering new work in Jobber.

If you're moving to TradesWork, its Jobber importer reads your exported files and brings over clients, properties as service locations, job history, invoices with balances, and products and services as your price book. Jobber has no memberships or equipment records to export, so recurring jobs come across as history, and quotes stay in Jobber for now. The Jobber layouts are still being validated against real exports, so keep the original files.

Step 5: Cards on file and Client Hub

Two client-facing pieces need a plan.

Cards and automatic payments. Card numbers sit with the payment processor and generally can't simply move to a new system. List every client with a card on file or automatic payments, and ask them to save a card in the new system through a secure link before their next charge.

Client Hub. Clients who use Client Hub to request work, approve quotes and pay will keep using it until you tell them otherwise. Send regular clients a short note with your new booking and payment links. Swap the booking button on your website and Google profile at the same time.

Step 6: Cancel your subscription

Once the new system is running, cancel. Jobber's help center describes it (cancel your subscription):

On jobber.com (most accounts):

  1. Sign in as an admin. Only admins can cancel.
  2. Click the gear icon and go to Account and Billing.
  3. Under "Change your subscription," click Cancel Subscription.
  4. Confirm on any pop-ups and choose a reason from the dropdown.

The confirmation screen shows your renewal date, which is your last day of access.

If you subscribed in the Jobber app: log in as an admin, go to More, then Subscription, and tap the red Cancel Subscription button. App subscriptions are billed through Apple or Google, so any refund request goes to the app store, not Jobber.

Jobber's terms also allow you to notify Jobber by phone. Either way, take a screenshot of the confirmation and keep any email Jobber sends.

Step 7: Finish exporting before access ends

The help center is clear about what happens next: after your last day, the subscription doesn't renew and you lose access to your account data, including clients, jobs and invoices. Use the remaining time to:

  • Re-run your client export and reports so they include the final weeks
  • Download any last quote or invoice PDFs
  • Check that every open invoice has been paid or moved to the new system

Step 8: Decide whether to close the account

Cancelling and closing are different. Closing permanently removes the account, and Jobber's help center says it's final (permanently close your account):

  • Only the account owner can request it, after the subscription is cancelled.
  • In the iOS app, go to settings (gear icon), then Profile, then Close Account, type CLOSE and confirm. You can also email support@getjobber.com.
  • Once the account is closed, Client Hub is unavailable. Clients who try to open it are told to contact you using the phone and email in your company settings.
  • Any information in the account can no longer be retrieved.

Jobber's terms also say you can request deletion of certain materials when you terminate, subject to its privacy policy's retention rules, and that it will certify the deletion in writing on request. If you want your data deleted, ask for that confirmation.

There's no need to rush this step. Close the account only once your archive is complete and checked.

A simple timeline

For a no-commitment monthly account:

  • Week 1: check your billing option, export clients and reports, pick and set up the new system.
  • Weeks 2 to 3: one crew on the new system, then the office. Start asking clients to save cards.
  • Week 4: remaining crews move. Swap links and tell Client Hub users.
  • Week 5: cancel in Account and Billing, then keep exporting until access ends.

On annual prepaid or a 1-year commitment, you'll pay through the term regardless, so use the extra time for a longer side-by-side, and cancel at least 30 days before renewal.
